Pirate Party Invitations and Party Ideas

PiratePirate Party Invitations will be fun to make.  Here's a suggestion:

Use Yellow Card for your invitations.  Print on them with black ink, using a very piratey font such as this one (called Wacky Calligraphic) on your PC.  Of course, you'll have to be witty with your wording, perhaps starting with "Ahoy there Matey!".  Keep the wording all in your theme.

Print your invitations up, I'd go with A5 size, so you could print 2 per A4 page.  Cut them to size.  Now comes the fun part!  Grab some wet teabags and wipe or dab them on the paper.  This gives a nice aged effect.  Then, once dry, you could either tear the edges, or if you are REALLY careful, burn some of the edges.  They'll come out looking great!

Of course, if you don't feel like making your own invitations, you can always print off one of the ones that I have created.  You'll find Pirate Party Invitations and more!  Click here to go to my Printable invitations Page.

Now for some pirate party ideas.  On your invitations, you could make mention that who ever talks like a pirate the best during the party will win a prize.  That will keep the kids busy acting and talking like pirates all day!  See the bottom of this page for some Pirate terms and their meanings.

Have black tablecloths on your tables, they can be decorated with chocolate coins (or plastic ones), and perhaps some plastic jewellery.  Perhaps some Black, Red and White Balloons held down with weights - which could be as simple as a rock painted gold to look like gold treasure.Pirate Bird Cartoon

Make a sign saying "beware of Pirates" for your wall, and make some paper ships to place about the room.  You could make some fake swords out of cardboard and foil and have them on the wall or around the room.  You could make a treasure chest filled with plastic coins, gold painted rocks, and plastic jewellery.

Don't forget the games and the Pirate Captain's Birthday cake to go along with your pirate party invitations!  For some more ideas on Games and Cakes, Click here to check out FamilyFun.com (a new window will open).
