Make your Own Firetruck Invitations

Firetruck invitations seem fitting when everyone I know (including myself) has wanted to be a fire fighter at one or more stages in their lives. Is your child going through this stage now?

For your fire truck invitations, I would download a pic of a fire truck from the internet, then copy and paste it into your word processor. Change the page settings to A5 page, and paste the fire truck as if to fit on an A5 page. Place the pic in the background, and then type your party details over the pic (in an audible colour).

Print 2 to a page, then cut around the edge of the fire truck shape. There you have your fireturck invitations.

See if you can get your local fire brigade to come past during your party and give the kids a little tour of their truck. Most Fire departments will be more than happy to do this as little or no cost.

Plan some games - one I have heard of that would work in well with this theme is to have a race to save a doll. Get two sets of fire coats and hats and in teams or two they become "fire-fighters" and rescue the doll. The fastest pair wins a prize.

There is also plenty of colourful food that you can serve at this party that will match with your theme colours - most of it healthy too. Serve things like bagels and call them fire truck wheels. Have platters with fruits and vegies in the variety of colours of your theme.

On a more serious note - this would be a great opportunity to throw in some fire safety activities or games etc where the kids can play and learn at the same time.
